There is a car culture here in the Maryland/ DC area. Though this seemingly excessive love that many seem to show for their cars isn't a new concept, it is making it's way into back to the fore front once more in a new way. The auto enthusiast car club, Montgomery County's Finest, is trying to usher in this summers rebirth of the culture with two 15 inch sub woofers, 400 hourses, and a dual exhaust. If you can't hear em coming then you need to open your ears.
I spent the day as camera man to the event. Hoping out at red lights, running through traffic and crowds trying to get some of the best shots I could. What was the occasion one might ask? There wasn't one. The clubs enthusiasim is so strong that these 5 members turned an almost rained out day into a parade through DC.
The thing is though,we see this every summer. The rims come out of storage. Early Saturday mornings, young men clean their cars for the weekend. Making sure each detail is wiped down. Those with deep dish rims shine the chrome lips to get the sun to hit em just right. And they become so enthused that a ride to the corner store becomes an all day event. That's about how my day went riding out with MOCO's Finest. How and the hell did you spend yours? I personally hadn't had good clean fun like this in a while.......Check it out.
The intial line up
While trying to wait for other members to arrive, I took the oppurtunity to turn this moment into photo shoot.
Yeah, we rode through Georgetown with the doors up on the Magnum. Police didn't even stop us.
Shot of Bryan's 26's taken while holding the door to the doge Magnum at a stop light.
So we come to a stop light in DC. I hop out and take more photos. This guy hops in with a glass of wine in his hand. They had to be toursits. Who in the hell walks down the street with a glass of wine in their hand? This is only the half of it. Everybody turned heads, stopped, and paid the car club some attention. The amount of love was just ridiculous.
